The “Wholock” dream of a Doctor Who and Sherlock crossover may very well have happened it appears… if it hadn’t been for the latter show’s two stars, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, with the assistance of Mark Gatiss!

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Producer Steven Moffat seems to have warmed to the concept… even if those around him haven’t:

“We should give it to [the fans]. But, I got persuaded by Mark, Benedict, and Martin, saying, ‘Look, it will never be as good as they think it is going to be.’ And then, I say, ‘Yes, but we will just bang it out and make it as good.'”

Despite being open to the idea himself, it looks likely the crossover will never happen, Moffat conceding:

“You cannot give everybody everything they want all the time. I think they are sane and right. I am just a tart.”

It’s not for us to possibly comment!

What do DWW readers think? Still want to see Wholock? or is it dead in the water (Reichenbach pun intended).
