British comedian and Series 9 guest star Rufus Hound has spoken on his desire to move beyond his forthcoming guest role in Doctor Who… by becoming a full time companion!
Speaking to the Radio Times, Hound suggested that Michelle Gomez’s turn as the new Master had paved the way for a future female incarnation of the Doctor, proclaiming that “she’d need a companion.”
Rufus will be appearing in Series 9 as Sam Swift, appearing in episodes six and seven - The Girl Who Died and The Woman Who Lived and Hound claims that after Osgood’s return, even if he dies in the episodes it’s no longer a barrier to a comeback!
Speaking on his reaction to finally appearing in the show, the comedian and famous fan said, before making a “squee” face:
“Suddenly it was the Doctor talking to me and I sort of went…”
Rufus Hound will be seen in Doctor Who Series 9 which airs this coming autumn/fall.
