A familiar foe will be returning to face the new Doctor Peter Capaldi in Series 8, at least according to The Star.
The paper claims that the forthcoming series will feature the (not unexpected, admittedly) return of the Daleks after a personal request of actor Peter Capaldi, for whom the encounter was a childhood fantasy.
There had been rumours late in 2013 that Skaro’s finest would appear in the new series’ premiere but that doesn’t appear to be the case, the baddies presumably appearing later in the run.
Series 8 will broadcast on BBC One sometime later this year.
